Introduction
Based in China since the turn of the Millenium, Skyanalog has been making acclaimed high quality phono cartridges on an OEM basis for many of the world’s most famous cartridge brands, producing over 50,000 units spanning more than fifty models to date. In 2019 it began to manufacture a range of Moving Coil designs under its own brand name, its current lineup, which is available in the UK exclusively from Sound Design Distribution, including the two entry P1 models, G1, G2 and G3 mid-range cartridges and the range-topping ‘Reference’ design.
Growing up in rural China, founder Jack Leung collected components like resistors and transistors to begin his “DIY adventure”, making his own “Hi-Fi” tube amplifier by the age of 16. After nearly ten years as a senior telecom engineer, he started Skyanalog, initially manufacturing tube amplifiers for the domestic market before transitioning to the global analogue market as an OEM supplier to many large analogue brands.
