Much fanfare and amazement greeted the Kii Three system on launch, but the Kii Three BXT system is more radical still as Jason Kennedy explains in his review for The Ear.net. It isn’t simply a bass section for the standmount as you might expect. Rather it’s an entirely new full-range active speaker system combining point source accuracy with the advantages of line array design. Not only are room reflections supressed naturally, it’s smart enough to micro-manage its acoustic environment. In other words, the Kii Three BXT ‘actively’ creates the optimum conditions for its architecture to deliver revelatory transparency, turning convention on its head: more objectively than any other, the system is testing the source rather than the other way round! As Jason concludes: “It really is an extraordinarily revealing system and yet manages to combine this with incredible musicality. After all, that’s exactly what the artists we love laid down on stage or in the studio, and this system gets you closer to it – a lot closer. I heartily suggest you listen for yourself, it’s quite a treat.”
